Ring of Eidolon's Edge

Ring of Eidolon's Edge

The Ring of Eidolon's Edge is a minor artifact. It is an ebony ring made in the Daedric style, likely enchanted with the soul of a lesser Daedra. The ring magically increases the wearer's proficiency at using blades and shields. The identity of Eidolon and the origins of the ring are unknown, although a Daedric ruin named Eidolon's Hollow exists in the Deshaan region of Morrowind.

The ring came into the hands of a merchant in the Imperial City in the late Third Era. Rosentia Gallenus, a young Imperial woman with a passion for collecting unusual arcane craftwork, purchased the ring for a lover, although it returned to her possession when he left her for someone else. Rosentia later married a wealthy man in Leyawiin, and was left with his fortune and large manor when he died. She used her wealth to expand her collection, and in 3E 433 she came into contact with the Staff of the Everscamp. In return for helping her to dispose of the cursed Staff, she gave the Ring of Eidolon's Edge to the Champion of Cyrodiil.

Ring of Hircine

Ring of Hircine

The Ring of Hircine (also known as Hircine's Ring) is a Daedric artifact created by the Daedric Prince Hircine. In appearance, it is usually an engraved metallic ring showing the head of a wolf, although it has also been known to appear as a spiked leather buckler. The ring can temporary give the gift of Lycanthropy to the wearer, and allows lycanthropes to control their transformations. Lycanthropes who possess the ring are not affected by the moons or by bloodlust, and can change form at will. For non-lycanthropes, the ring is often useless, although it has been known to extend the wearer's life and allow for transformation into a werewolf. The ring is known to affect werewolves and wereboars, and likely works on other lycanthropes as well.

Tharsten Heart-Fang, a great leader of the Skaal of Solstheim, possessed the Ring of Hircine for many generations in secret, unnaturally extending his life and youth. However, in the events leading up to the Warp in the West, an agent of the Blades summoned Hircine through the Glenmorial Coven and was tasked with killing an ungrateful wereboar for the Prince. In return, a worshipper of Hircine gave the ring to the agent. By 3E 427, Tharsten was again in possession of the ring when he was captured by the Hounds of Hircine to act as Prey during the fulfillment of the Bloodmoon Prophecy. He was brought to the icy tunnels within the Mortrag Glacier, and took part in Hircine's Hunt. Tharsten encountered the Nerevarine during the Hunt, and used the ring to transform into a werewolf and attack. The Nerevarine defeated him and became the new owner of the ring.

Circa 4E 201, a Nord werewolf named Sinding stole the Ring of Hircine in an attempt to control his transformations. His plan backfired when Hircine cursed the ring, causing the wearer to transform at random and making it impossible to take off unless another willingly accepts it. Sinding was captured in Falkreath and thrown in jail for killing a little girl in his beast form. The Last Dragonborn visited Sinding in his jail cell, and accepted the ring from him, hoping to appease Hircine and have the curse removed. Sinding escaped from jail, and the Dragonborn hunted down a rare White Stag to earn the Prince's favor. Upon contacting Hircine, the Dragonborn learned that the Prince would not forgive Sinding's betrayal, and had tasked hunters with killing and skinning him in return for the Savior's Hide. It is unknown if the Dragonborn joined the Hunt and lost the ring, saved Sinding from the hunters and had Hircine remove the curse, or betrayed Sinding by eliminating the hunters before turning on him and claiming both artifacts.

Ring of Khajiiti

Ring of Khajiiti

The Ring of Khajiiti (or sometimes just Ring of Khajiit) is an ancient Daedric artifact, many centuries old, dating back to at least the Second Era. It is associated with two Princes, Meridia and Mephala, who have both been known to offer the Ring in return for service. It is said that the ring makes the wearer invisible, silent, and quick.

The Ring was originally owned by Mephala, until it was stolen off her arm by Rajhin, the renowned burglar who later became revered as the Thief God of the Khajiit. Using the Ring's powers, Rajhin became the most successful burglar in Elsweyr's history. It is even said that Rajhin stole a tattoo from the neck of Empress Kintyra as she slept. Eventually, after making use of its power too freely, Rajhin was abandoned by the Ring and left exposed to his enemies.

Rueful Axe

Rueful Axe

The Rueful Axe is a Daedric artifact created by the Daedric Prince Clavicus Vile. It takes the form of a large iron battleaxe engraved with images of werewolves, although it is actually made of ebony. The axe is very heavy, and has a wicked blade that looks sharp enough to cut through a god. It is enchanted to magically fatigue anyone that it strikes.

The axe was created by Vile for Sebastian Lort, a powerful Breton conjurer. Sebastian's daughter was a worshipper of Hircine, and was cursed with lycanthropy. Sebastian prayed to Vile to cure his daughter, and, in response, the Prince gave him the axe, giving the mage a means of "curing" his daughter by slaying her (which was no cure at all as Hircine still claims the souls of lycanthropes).

In 4E 201, Vile tasked the Last Dragonborn with retrieving the axe from Sebastian, who was residing in a cave named Rimerock Burrow in Haafingar, Skyrim. In return, the Dragonborn requested that Vile would forgive Barbas, who he had banished to Tamriel. Vile gave the Dragonborn the option of keeping the Rueful Axe and using it to slay Barbas and temporarily vanquish him to the Void, or going through with the original deal, in which Vile would take the axe and Barbas in return for the Masque of Clavicus Vile. It is unknown which option the Last Dragonborn chose.
