The city of Kragenmoor holds Morrowind's western border to the Nibenay Basin region of Cyrodiil. Kragenmoor is situated between two mountain ranges, the Valus Mountains and the Velothi Mountains. The city was known for its private school for the Tribunal Temple and is mentioned in the well-known books On Morrowind and King Edward, Part X.
Kragenmoor was the seat of House Dres's Grandmaster for most of the Second Era, serving as Grandmaster Omin Dres's residence. During that time, the city was temporarily captured by Grandmaster Tanval Indoril and his Vanguard. The city was later liberated when the Soulless One returned Omin Dres's son from the Vanguard's captivity.
The city was divided into two sections: Upper Kragenmoor, home to the Dres Grandmaster, his guests, and the private school for the Tribunal Temple, and Lower Kragenmoor, where House Dres's many slaves, some petty thieves, and the city's skooma addicts dwell.
As House Hlaalu's power grew during the Third Era, Kragenmoor was claimed by House Hlaalu during their rapid territorial expansion into central Morrowind.
Notes
- Arena was originally conceived as a fighting game featuring a tournament that took the player to each of Tamriel's cities to challenge different gladiatorial teams. According to a file from that stage of development left behind in the final game, Kragenmoor's gladiatorial team would have been called "the Warhammers".
