Lillandril is a port city on the northwestern coast of Summerset Isle.
Circa 1E 470, a magical flask was discovered by a group of elves living in the city. The Flask of Lillandril absorbed any magic used against its bearer, and was used to extend the power of the Barons of Summerset Isle. While the flask was being transported to the city of Daggerfall, the ship carrying it was shipwrecked off the island of Stros M'Kai. In 2E 864 the flask was unearthed by Cyrus the Redguard, who went on to defeat the powerful Sload necromancer N'Gasta with it. The flask is rumored to be in the possession of Clavicus Vile.
Lillandril once possessed a branch of the Mages Guild before the guild dissolved. The local branch drew their power from a magical diamond. This diamond was stolen from them by priests from the Temple of the Mad God. During the Imperial Simulacrum, the Eternal Champion retrieved the diamond for the guild. In return, the guild used their newly-restored power to locate the Crystal Tower for the champion.
Notes
- Arena was originally conceived as a fighting game featuring a tournament that took the player to each of Tamriel's cities to challenge different gladiatorial teams. According to a file from that stage of development left behind in the final game, Lillandril's gladiatorial team would have been called "the Crimson Guard".
