Lore:Glenmoril Wyrd

< Facções: [[Lore:Facções [|[]](Redirecionado de Lore:Glenmoril Coven)

The Glenmoril Wyrd (also known as the Glenmoril Coven, the Glenmorial Coven or the Glenmoril Witches) is a witch coven which once had a presence in High Rock, Hammerfell, Solstheim, Cyrodiil and Skyrim. The coven is notable for its ability to cure Lycanthropy and Vampirism. The witches have strong ties to Hircine. Many members of the coven are vampires who dwell within the cities of High Rock; this tribe of vampires grew so powerful as to gain the attention of the Cyrodiil Vampyrum Order, who considered them to be "Rivals". The witches are known to polymorph into enormous ravens, and in time many became hagravens.

Before the events of the Warp in the West, the witches maintained a hidden coven in the wilderness of Ilessan Hills region of High Rock, as well as many covens in several towns and cities within the Iliac Bay area. The witches occasionally visited the island of Solstheim, such as their return in 3E 427 during the Bloodmoon Prophecy. Ettiene, Fallaise and Isobel, three Breton witches, set up camp in Gloomy Cave, an ice cave on the Isinfier Plains. The witches offered to cure werewolves who came to the Altar of Thrond of their Lycanthropy. This was achieved through a ritual, although the witches had also enchanted a scroll with a spell to cure Lycanthropy. Although there were once covens located in Cyrodiil, none existed within its borders by 3E 433. Melisande, a Breton woman living at the settlement of Drakelowe in the Nibenay Basin, was a retired member of the coven who was persuaded to create a potion to cure Countess Rona Hassildor of Skingrad of Vampirism.

Sometime in the Second Era, a coven in Skyrim made a pact with the Companions, an ancient mercenary guild based in Whiterun. Through trickery, they turned the Companions into werewolves. Although many members embraced the affliction, it prevented the Harbingers of the guild from entering Sovngarde after they had died, instead becoming trapped in Hircine's Hunting Grounds. By 4E 201, this coven, located in western Falkreath Hold, had become the last haven for the Glenmoril Witches in Skyrim. All of the members were hagravens, having been corrupted in their search for power. Kodlak Whitemane, the Harbinger of the Companions, wanted to find a cure to his Lycanthropy before he died. He sent a new recruit to wipe out the witches and retrieve their decapitated heads, which is where their magic is contained. Kodlak was killed before he could be cured, but his ghost was freed when the recruit burned one of the witches' heads and killed Kodlak's wolf spirit in the Tomb of Ysgramor. Several other Companions followed his lead and cured themselves in the same manner. The three Glenmoril witches of Solstheim had also become hagravens by 4E 201. While visiting Solstheim, they were killed by the Last Dragonborn, in a cave beside the Altar of Thrond.
