Quick Walkthrough
- Speak to Faral Retheran in the Treasury in the Vivec's Redoran canton for duties.
- Go to the Eight Plates in Balmora.
- Use either persuasion or force to end Meril Hlaano's slanders.
- Report back to Faral Retheran.
Detailed Walkthrough
Duties
Faral Retheran in the Redoran Treasury in Vivec's Redoran canton will ask you to convince a Hlaalu noble, Meril Hlaano, to stop slandering House Redoran.
Meril Hlaano
Hlaano can be found at the Eight Plates in Balmora and only requires that you persuade him sufficiently (75 disposition). This can be done quite easily with a bribe or other forms of persuasion, or by using a Fortify Personality or Charm spell. You can kill him but you'll receive no reward and Faral Retheran's disposition will drop by 15, even if you taunted him into attacking first.
Return to Retheran in Vivec to complete the quest and receive a Holy Shield.

- You can get this quest whether you belong to House Redoran or not.
