Transparent.gif Quote of the... However long it is until I update it
Transparent.gif "If Love’s a Sweet Passion, why does it torment?
If a Bitter, oh tell me whence comes my content?
Since I suffer with pleasure, why should I complain,
Or grieve at my Fate, when I know ‘tis in vain?
Yet so pleasing the Pain, so soft is the Dart,
That at once it both wounds me, and tickles my Heart.

My name is Damon McKnight, I'm 32 years old, and I do many things, including, but not limited to editing and chatting here, playing video games (namely TES, Civilization, Football Manager, and Assassin's Creed), and drinking. I've been around the wiki since 2008 using it as my source for all things Morrowind, and I started editing regularly as a user in September 2011, at which point I was known as Sn0L3prd, then better known as Eric Snowmane (which many people call me - Eric, Snowmane, or Damon).

If you want to talk to me, go to my talk page.

Transparent.gif On UESP
Transparent.gif

I do a little bit of everything. There isn't a single thing or even a few things that I can claim I am the master of, but if you want fast general knowledge, I'm more than likely able to help out with that, and I encourage users to ask questions if they have them. The long row of userboxes will let you know what things I can help out with.

I am a Patroller, Mentor, and Blocker on the site, in terms of rank, so if you have a question about the site, I'll mentor you, and if there is vandalism, but no administrator on hand to block them, hit my talk page, and I'll get it taken care of.

I am also an author on UESP's blog(yes, we have a blog) and I have been managing the UESP Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr accounts since April 2014, though as of late I've become more hands-off about them, letting other users do more and more on them..

Transparent.gif Gameplay
Transparent.gif

I started playing The Elder Scrolls with Morrowind, and I've easily clocked several thousand hours of play and a few hundred characters. While I can comfortably say that I've done most of what the game and the expansions have to offer. That said, I still completely adore the game, and I am constantly coming up with new play styles to test out.

In August 2011, I moved on to Oblivion, but the game wasn't the same as the alien world that I fell in love with, and after two or three vanilla playthroughs, I modded a TES game for the first time since starting the series almost three years before that. Now, I've got Oblivion modded to the point where I can't remember what's vamilla or modded. And, I think I need to make a reinstall and slowly re-add mods until I find out which one completely trashed the game. Needless to say, I've modded the game to the point where very little of it is still original, and that many mods makes the game completely unstable.

In December 2011, I joined the Skyrim craze, and while the game was fun for the first one or two hundred hours, I quickly found that the guild stories were weak, and except for random running around to examine the beautiful landscape, I've largely stopped playing the game, opting to wait until the buggy mess it fixed up, all available DLC is out, and there are cool user mods to use in order to freshen up the gameplay.

My next purchase in the TES series was in May 2012, when I purchased The Infernal City while I was on a long road trip across the country and I needed reading material to occupy my mind. It was a fantastic book, and I can't wait to get the sequel and read it. I only haven't yet because I haven't had the chance to go 45 minutes away to a bookstore.

In mid-late 2013 I was gifted from another user that I'm good friends with a physical disc set of the Game of the Year edition of Morrowind, marking my first foray into the Morrowind modding scene, as I was previously playing the GOTY Xbox version.

Transparent.gif Fanfiction
Transparent.gif

I love writing fanfiction, though I maintain strict adherence to current lore, and I seldom take many creative freedoms with what's been established. If I write a story, I may classify it under a "game" section on General:Fanfiction for the sake of letting readers know what the setting is, but I promise all my stories are unique pieces and don't follow the games proper.

  • Characters- For gameplay, fanfiction, and other random things
  • The Vampire's Tale- The Redguard Gallen loses his family to vampire attacks,
  • Andre's Journal- A Breton thief in Cyrodiil, who acts as a Robin Hood of sorts.
  • Runa's Journal- A sheltered young Nord girl who runs away from her overprotective parents to face the harsh realities of the world.
  • Cassie- The experiences of a young wizard working for a notorious murderer and thief. This is a story about my gameplay, but I don't consider it part of my fanfiction canon(completed)

Transparent.gif Sandboxes
Transparent.gif I will try to remember to tag them with {{Editing Allowed}} and let everyone edit them, since extra eyes are helpful, but I tend to be forgetful of things. All sandboxes, tagged with the template or not, can be considered editable by all users, unless I specifically indicate on the page that I want to only permit certain users.
