Since this page is related to the newly formed UESPWiki:Blog page, any user is welcome to tweak it as they see fit.

Once your account has been registered and a blog administrator has reviewed it and granted the permissions to begin writing, you'll notice a new set of buttons on the top navbar across from your username and the "log out" button. For the purpose of this page, it will be assumed that the user viewing the blog is one of the most basic blogger user group.

The Navbar

The navigation bar

You'll notice a series of buttons now lining the top of the page. While all of them are viewable, at the "blogger" rank, very few of them actually offer much functionality when you click and view the contents.

b2evolution Drop Menu

This button opens a drop down window presenting links to the blog's main page, the dashboard, and the b2evolutions home page, forum, and user manuals. The links are all clearly written, and it should be obvious where they go.

Dashboard

The next button on the navbar, the "Dashboard" accesses links to view posts and comments, uploaded files, blog settings, user profile settings, and "tools", which leads to a spam blacklist. Except for your user preferences, all the links posted are viewable, but not directly editable, unless you're in the "Posts/Comments" tab, where you can only edit your own blog posts.

See

"See" is a tab that goes to the blog's "index", the main page, where all posted blogs and approved comments are viewable.

Write

The "Write" button opens the blogging interface, where users are able to actually write and post their blogs, and will be detailed below.

Manage

"Manage" jumps into the navbar and goes immediately to the "Posts/Comments" tab detailed above.

Upload

Files/Images can be uploaded to the blog for inclusion in posts, and existing files and images are viewable from this tab. There is an "Upload" button on this page, where you would go to actually upload images and files, but that button is unavailable for the basic "blogger"

Writing and Posting

The blank writing interface

A filled writing window with formatting included

Once in the writing interface, you'll be introduced to the window the blog is actually written in, a "categories" tab, "Visibilty/Sharing", and "Comments"

The Writing Window

In the writing window, there are numerous available functions that can be used to create and format a post. There is the title field, which is what the blog would be named when it's posted, there are two dozen emoticons that can be included in a post, as well as the basic word processor functions of bolding, italicizing, and linking posts, including uploaded images in a blog, and then some. Additional features are under the "Expert" tab, which includes all the same features as the "Simple" interface.

Category

The category you assign to the post determines how it will be sorted. There can be one "Main" category and as many "extra" categories as you desire. The current categories are:

  • Games
  • Elder Scrolls
  • Fallout
  • Hobbies
  • Sports
  • Misc
  • TV/Movies
  • Web
  • Work
  • News
  • Programming
  • Code
  • Science
  • Engineering
  • Statistics
  • UESP
  • Welcome

Visibilty/Sharing

This set of buttons controls who is able to view the blog post and whether or not it's published. The available options are Published, Protected (only blog members can view the post), Private (only you can view it), Draft, and Depreciated. Draft and Depreciated are not published, and can be viewed from the Dashboard.

Comments

The last section of the toolbar determines whether or not comments can be posted, and the three options are "Open", "Closed", and "Disabled".
