SarthesArai has been a quality contributor to the site for years now, and with the current need for active patrollers, I think it's high time to offer him a spot on the team. During his time here at the UESP, he has contributed heavily to articles in lorespace and gamespace alike, uploaded images to many of the articles that desperately need them, and provided valuable insight in community discussions. He has always been friendly and courteous in discussions, and his knowledge of our policies and writing style is evident in his consistent pattern of quality edits. Plus, he seems to be patrolling the recent changes page a good bit already. I have every reason to believe that he is, and will continue to be, a model editor for the community.

• Support: Full support. Sarthes is one of the best contributors on the site and has been doing the work of a patroller for quite some time now. Just look at his edits and you'll see plenty of fixes and corrections to new additions on articles, reversions of vandalism, file moves, and plenty of the other types of edits that patrollers commonly make. A month ago I was nominated for this position for the first time. Although a great honor, it came unexpected and felt like a huge responsibility at the moment. I decided to try on the patroller's shoes as a userspace patroller first. Since then, I have observed patrollers doing their work and realized that, firstly, patrollership does not mean being singlehandedly responsible for every edit on the wiki as we are a team. Secondly, I realized that it is ok if some of the edits go unpatrolled, as they will eventually be noted. Before, I had an impression that everything should be patrolled no matter what. That being said, I don't mean it as if the patrolling is to be taken lightly, rather that it needs to be approached with a steady head.

As English is my second language, I know that there is a concern with my grammar. While I am working on improving it, I am not going to take on the patrols of which I am uncertain. Shuryard

Somehow people keep on forgetting to do this, to the point it has become absurd. When I saw a little red exclamation next to one of Shuryard's edits today, I laughed, choked on my drink, and got a bunch of hot coffee down the wrong pipe. This has become a public hazard; it's time to complete this formality before anyone else gets hurt.

Shuryard has been an on-and-off contributor since she made an account in 2012, and has been especially active over the last few months. She has been fleshing out the Online namespace at a simply amazing pace, and her familiarity with the site is abundantly clear.

Here's what Shuryard had to say for herself in this conversation last month, "Since I discovered this wiki, it became a special, inseparable from the ES universe, place for me. It took me some time before I even considered the thought of making a small edit. And then some more before I could sum up the courage to create a page!"

• Comment: There's no doubt in my mind that Shuryard does fantastic work and is very familiar with the wiki, and at this stage her ESO edits rarely need any oversight. However, my concerns lie with her grasp of English grammar, which I feel isn't quite at a level suited to patrolling other's work yet. Nobody's perfect in this regard, and Shuryard is already doing the job of patrolling. She's welcoming newcomers, and clearly monitors the recent changes list. She does her best to resolve talk pages concerns, and always in a polite manner as far as I know. Every patroller has failings, but so long as they recognize them and try to avoid patrolling edits which are out of their sphere, we continue to maximize our opportunity cost with additions like this. Even if the only manual patrols she makes are talk page comments which she has addressed, that's still a valuable contribution. Shuryard seems to be very respectful of the integrity of the site, and I think it's a safe bet that she will practice discretion when patrolling. And the occasional grammar mistake is not the end of the world. When I start delving into ESO dungeons in June, you can bet I'll be rooting out typos. • Comment: I would like to add that, it's standard practice to apply for userspace patroller before becoming a full-fledged patroller. I realize that this wouldn't affect the large amount of unpatrolled edits on Shuryard's part, which is one of the reasons of this nomination, but the userspace patroller rights exist to give people a chance to get used to the "tools and protocols" of the patroller. That said, there's not much to being a patroller other than patrolling, being courteous as mentioned etc. But perhaps she'd feel more comfortable doing this in steps if she feels this "great" responsibility is a bit too much right now ;). After all, it's not uncommon for new patrollers to wane in acitivity due to being promoted, it's important that one mustn't feel forced, it's an ability and not a duty anyway, we're all here voluntarily. • Support: Shuryard has been doing an excellent job in expanding the Online namespace for quite some time now, adding both content and high quality images to many pages. On top of this, she has also been actively watching the recent changes page from what I can tell and has been very courteous in discussions. Sampling a few of her larger edits, I did not notice any glaring grammar, spelling, or wording issues. Overall, I think Shuryard's edits can easily go unpatrolled and I feel quite comfortable in letting her patrol other contributors' edits as well.

This being said, if you do not feel comfortable in taking these responsibilities or think that they might become a burden, I'd consider Dwarf's suggestion in becoming a userspace patroller first. I think you are ready to take on the rights now without this step, but it could help remove any doubts you may have.
