Trels Varis is a Dunmer journalist who makes a living writing and printing off The Common Tongue, an article that attacks the new king, King Hlaalu Helseth, from a secret room in the Craftsmen's Hall. He has two family members in Mournhold, Gee-Pop Varis and Granny Varis.
He is wearing a common shirt with matching pants and shoes. He is carrying two quality restore health potions. Aside from his natural resistance to fire and the sanctuary provided by his ancestors, he knows the following spells: Mark, Recall, Absorb Health, Detect Creature, and Detect Key.
