The Orrery

If Queen Ayrenn is to prove herself worthy of leading the Aldmeri Dominion to glory, she must complete the ratification ceremony in the Orrery of Elden Root. Legends say it can reveal those worthy of becoming emperor … or empress.

Talk to Meleras, who is behind Prince Naemon in the Elden Root Throne Room.

"Imagine! The chance to see the Orrery operate." —Meleras

He says Conservator Daraneth wanted to speak with you personally.

The Orrery

As you make your way through the Orrery, you see Vicereeve Pelidil attempting to enter and Queen Ayrenn and her brother.

"Little brother, you shouldn't be here for this. Daraneth warned us of the dangers."

"I won't turn my back on family. My place is in your shadow, as it has always been."

"I know this can't be easy for you."

"On the contrary. Today the Dominion shall see why a High Elf is fit to lead all of Tamriel."

Near the entrance to the main chamber, you see King Camoran Aeradan and Azareth. The King is excited to see the ceremony, while Azareth would prefer to remain at a safe distance.

Daraneth is on the stairs across from the spinning Ayleid device. You should be the one to put the pieces in place, since you helped collect them. First, you need to use Rajhin's Mantle to be in three places at once. Use the Mantle on the two pillars, then talk to Daraneth.

Next, you place the Heart of Anumaril in the pillar next to the Queen, Prince Naemon and King Camoran Aeradan.

Naemon's Choice

Once the Heart of Anumaril is in place, Prince Naemon steps forward towards the Ayleid device.

"And now the Ayleid deathtrap will tell us if we have an emperor in our midst. Truly, a momentous day."

"Naemon, now is not the time."

"Ayrenn, there's always time to protect you from yourself. For how could I let you risk your life in this contraption without testing it first, dear sister?"

He uses a spell to bind you and the other observers, but because you are still wearing Rajhin's Mantle, you can break free.

Naemon claims to see the White-Gold Tower inside the device, then he reappears as a ogrim across from the observers. He accuses Queen Ayrenn of tricking him and vows to kill everyone.

The True Queen Revealed

Talk to Queen Ayrenn after you defeat him. The device revealed the person within Naemon as it will do to her. She is determined to discover if she is fit to lead the Aldmeri Dominion.

She enters the Ayleid device, then reappears moments later in a beam of blue-green light. She saw a vision of peace. She must build a fair and just rule of Tamriel, with you standing at her side. She invites you to build the future with her and gives you a reward.
