The purpose of this page is to document some aspects of Elder Scrolls Online that are specific to the PlayStation 4 version of the game. The PS4 version was released on June 9, 2015. The vast majority of gameplay is identical on all platforms (PC/Mac, Xbox One, or PS4): the quests are the same, most glitches are the same, etc. You will need to have signed up to PlayStation Plus to play the game, as this requirement is beyond the control of ZeniMax.
Platform Differences
Interface Differences
Although the keyboard and PS4 controller clearly provide very different methods of interacting with the game, most of the controls work the same way. However, text-based chat is not yet available on PS4; instead, players must depend on emotes and voice chat to communicate.
Patches/Expansions
It won't be possible to play the game without the latest patch. PS4 patches are developed separately, and are released less frequently than PC patches due to the effort involved in going live on console. On average, there is one console patch per month, compared to two or three for PC/Mac.
