Detailed Walkthrough
Blacksmith Writs are available to anyone who completes the Blacksmith Certification quest. Every day, you may pick up the Blacksmith Writ quest from the Equipment Crafting Writs boards. These boards are located in the major cities of the five Alliance zones, as well as The Hollow City in Coldharbour, Belkarth in Craglorn and Orsinium in Wrothgar. If you have not yet unlocked Coldharbour or Craglorn, you will be required to produce a lower-level item than your current rank would otherwise require.
The items needed will always be a mix of weapons and armour, in any of three different combinations:
- 3 swords, 2 cuirasses and 1 greaves
- 2 greatswords, 2 sabatons and 2 gauntlets
- 2 helms, 5 daggers and 2 pauldrons
The material you are required to use, as well as the level of the reward you receive, is dependent on your rank in the Metalworking skill. The items needed and the delivery location are summarised below:

Notes
- Blacksmith's Crates from VII to X may drop rare Glass motif chapter fragments, which can be assembled into Glass motif chapters.
- Due to the rarity of Rubedite Ingots, writs requiring them will instead ask for
- 1 Rubedite helm, 2 Voidsteel daggers and 2 Voidsteel pauldrons
- 1 Rubedite cuirass, 1 Voidsteel sword and 1 Voidsteel greaves
- 1 Rubedite greatsword, 1 Voidsteel sabatons and 1 Voidsteel gauntlets.
