Philosophical Pondering
Alavi Arendus lives on Sadas Plantation with her husband Gadaves. She has recently been questioning her views on religion and is considering joining the Tribunal Temple, but has two problems. First, she needs some questions about Temple doctrine answering, and second, she believes her husband wouldn't approve of her new interest. She asks you to go to the local priest, Athenim Adri, and ask him what happens to the souls of mer when they die.
The Priest
Adri lives in the tower of Tel Sadas, a short distance away, but refuses to answer your question. He tells you that if Alavi has questions she should visit him herself. When informed of her belief that her husband would be upset, the priest is surprised because Gadaves has been asking him religious questions too. He gives you a copy of Saryoni's Sermons and asks you to deliver it to Adri, suggesting that she might find some answers there.
Miscommunication
Alternatively, talk to her husband about her concerns. Gadaves freely tells you about his own inquiries into Temple doctrine and promises that he will tell his wife to go and talk to the priest.
The Reward
Whichever way you choose, head back to Adi. She's happy about the misunderstanding and gives you her ring of soothing - a ring with a powerful Calm Creature effect - as a reward. If you got the book from Adri, you can give it to her or keep it for yourself - it doesn't matter either way.
