== A Note to the Reader ==

Only once before have I attempted to create poetry for the land of Tamriel, and that was a year ago, when I wrote ''Ravings of a Lunatic'' -- the link to which may be found on my page -- though I believe I posted it on UESP at a later date. Though it was an interesting experience, I wasn't inspired enough to go back and create more. However, with the passing of a year I have become a bit more practiced in the arts of poetry (I recently read through the epics, ''The Iliad'', ''The Odyssey'', and ''Beowulf'', giving me further exposure to, and therefore experience with, poetry) and am ready to tackle this task once more. Moreover, I have spent the past few days (October 11-15) practicing writing poetry and have just written a pretty decent one as of Friday the 15th. Anyway, enjoy, and any other poems I create will be posted here until the end of 2010, when I will move on to Volume 2 of this series. Note that this ''is'' poetry, and so word order may be changed, and some words removed to make the phrase fit the stanza.

== Madness's Beginning ==

October 15, 2010

:Many ages long ago,
:Beyond the time that is now known;
:There were Princes, each with land,
:Fifteen there were then to be had.

:There was one who was with most power,
:The Prince of Order, so he was called;
:The fourteen others began to fear,
:the growing power, of they would hear;

:So they gathered 'round to curse the Lord,
:To live as the one thing he most scorned;
:And so it was that madness entered the world,
:and into it was Order hurled.

:And so the Sixteenth Prince emerged,
:The epitome of Order's scourge;
:His name was known as one of the wrath,
:The Daedric Lord Sheogorath.

== An Announcement ==

Since October 21, I have slowly been working on materializing a full version of the Poetic Epic described in Oblivion by random citizens, ''The Fall of Dagon.'' I will here release two stanzas from this poem. Here they are, and more to come. (Note: they are placed in order of appearance in the Poem).

=== The Fall of Dagon ===
November 17, 2010

:"Take heart!" the mighty hero cried,
:he looked up at Dagon and crused his foul name.
:Many a tale did Dagon then lie,
:of how his world and ours are one and the same.

November 9, 2010

:Tamriel the sun is rising,
:rising now anew.
:Tamriel the sun is rising,
:rising to renew.
