This is my first fanfic, inspired by [[User:Ninja Hinder|Ninja Hinder]].
I sat straight up, sweating, trying to remember where I was, or, who I was. I stood up and looked around at the dark, gray cell. What I first noticed was the barred door at the end of… what? I wandered around in a daze, trying to remember who I was, when the full meaning of the situation hit me, I was in prison.
I rushed to the barred door, knocking a clay pitcher off a nearby table in my hurry. The sound of breaking ceramics echoed around the dark dungeon. I grabbed the cell door, and shook it violently. It was locked from the outside with a huge iron padlock. Seeing this pushed me over the edge I ran around the small cell screaming like a madman until I tripped over a small stool and came face-to-face with a human skull.
It took me a minute to realize what I was seeing, but when I did, I scrambled away, breathing heavily. Exhausted from my rampage, I collapsed onto the stone bed, painfully. Almost as soon as I closed my eyes, I was asleep.
I awoke to the sound of a creaking door, and crawled out of my bed to see what caused the noise. I saw four people descending the stairs into the dungeon, three were dressed in full armor while the fourth looked like a king, and he wore a dark blue robe and had a large amulet around his neck.
As the strangers approached my cell, I feared they were going to kill me. I silently crawled over to the small wooden table and crouched underneath it. One of the guards unlocked the door and walked in, while the rest followed.
The female guard walked over to the stone bed, and pressed a stone in the wall. I watched wide-eyed as what used to be a bed, opened into a secret passageway. The small party entered the tunnel and was soon out of sight.
One word passed through my head, freedom.
