Quick Walkthrough

Talk to Captain Odreth.
Talk to Glooredel.
Light the sap vents in the villagers' homes, and save the villagers if you want.
Return to Glooredel, and light the roots.
Report to Captain Odreth.

Detailed Walkthrough

Scout Mengaer is standing close to the Vinedusk Village Wayshrine. The Colovians are invading. If you want to help, you need to speak to Captain Odreth.

Captain Odreth's quarters are in the tree. The ladder entrance is on the northeast side. Captain Odreth tells you to talk to Glooredel, the alchemical engineer.

Glooredel's Laboratory is to the northwest. She is working with a shalk, and it lights her on fire. The Rangers will burn the Colovian camps using the village's common root system. Glooredel gives you a mixture of shalk guts and fire salts to start the fire. You need to pour it into the urns in the villagers' homes and then return to Glooredel's workshop to light the roots on fire.

There are four sap vents to light. Once inside a villager's house, the sap vents are glowing green. You can also choose to rescue villagers from the Colovians by attacking the groups of enemies around the houses.

Back in Glooredel's Workshop, she gives you a torch to light the roots. You use the alchemical igniter to the right of Glooreder. There is an explosion, and you report to Captain Odreth.
